Raised stitching

What is 3D embroidery?

3D embroidery, also called puff, puts a layer of foam under the stitches so the design sits up off the fabric. You get a logo with real depth, the kind you see on caps and sports gear.

It stitches and wears the same as our flat embroidery. The only difference is the height, used where you want the logo to carry.

Best uses

Where it works

Caps & snapbacks

Structured caps and trucker fronts are where puff works best, and where most people have seen it.

Beanies

A raised logo on a beanie reads from across the room and has a bit of weight to it.

Streetwear & teamwear

Hoodies, jackets and team gear when you want the logo to be the main feature.

The look

3D embroidery in action

How raised stitching looks on caps, beanies and apparel.

Good to know

What works in 3D

  • Simple shapes and thick lettering stitch up best
  • It suits structured caps, beanies and heavier garments
  • Fine detail and thin text are better in flat embroidery
  • Send your logo and we'll tell you whether 3D, flat, or a mix suits it. No charge for that.
